Mt. Vernon Police arrest man in connection with Posey County home invasion

POSEY CO., IN (WFIE) - Mount Vernon Police have arrested 25 year old Adrian Valentine of Evansville in connection with the home invasion in Posey County that happened Tuesday night.

Police say that on April 23rd, they responded to an armed robbery at a mobile home on 29 Lee Drive in Mount Vernon.

Three men forced their way into the home and held a couple and their child at gunpoint.

One of the robbers struck the victim in the face with the butt of a handgun.

The victim, Jerome Stewart tells us four of his ribs were broken and he had to get stitches to his eyebrow.

Police say Valentine is the suspect who struck Stewart in the face. They say Valentine admitted to being involved in the robbery.

Valentine was arrested in Evansville and taken to the Posey County Jail where he is being held on $500,000 bond.

He's charged on nine counts, including two class A felonies and seven class B felonies.

Officers say the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests may follow.
