Name released of 18-year old killed in Owensboro wreck

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

The Daviess County Coroner has released the name of the woman killed in a fatal wreck early Friday morning.

She has been identified as 18-year-old Kimberly Williams of Owensboro.

The wreck happened around 12:15 a.m. on Frederica Street. near Martin Luther King, Jr. Loop.

A deputy tells 14 News the accident involved Williams and three people in another vehicle.

Officials say Williams was driving northbound on Frederica and crossed the center line into the southbound lane crashing into another vehicle.

Williams's vehicle went down an embankment and overturned into a ditch and was submerged in water. Authorities say she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver and passengers were taken to hospital, treated and released.

We're told everyone involved in the wreck was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

However, the accident remains under investigation.

The road reopened around 3:00 a.m.
