It's the peak of severe weather season in the tri-state and the National Weather Service rolled out a new way of warning for storms.

After being tested in 2012 in the Midwest, impact based warnings made it's way to the Tri-State on April 1.

Tonight on 14 News at 10, Meteorologist Chad Sewich looks into this new warning method and what the weather service hopes you'll get out of it.

We hope you'll join us for Chad's special report, Watching for Warnings, tonight on 14 News at 10.
