A former Indiana House Speaker was arrested for drinking and driving in Indianapolis.

Police say 69-year-old Michael Phillips of Boonville, crashed his SUV into a pole and then a pay booth in a Circle Center Mall parking garage.

Police were called to the scene and they say Phillips smelled of alcohol. He told officers that he had a couple glasses of wine at an off-track betting facility in downtown Indianapolis.

He failed several field sobriety tests and was arrested.
