Toddlers wander outside as mother takes illegal drugs

MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

A mother is accused of leaving her two toddlers out in the cold because she was doing drugs at the time.

According to police, Amber Warnack, 21, was charged with reckless endangerment in a child abuse situation after police found Warnack's 1-year-old playing in a puddle alone and her 2-year-old wandering unsupervised.

Police said the mom told them she was doing a line of cocaine while the kids were outside. She also told police she had taken a lortab and vicodin that weren't prescribed to her.

According to the police report, the youngest child was outside in only a diaper.

Warnack tested positive for narcotics in a drug screen administered by DCS, according to the report.
