UE students ready to help tackle the Tri-State's meth epidemic

Posted: Updated:

Some University of Evansville students want to help curb the Tri-State's meth epidemic.

Using software in their motion graphics art class, the UE students are creating public service announcements. A few of the PSA's may actually air on TV.

On Tuesday, Mayor Lloyd Winnecke stopped by to talk to the kids.

"If we just were shooting blind and just shooting PSA's to the TV station, we might get on. But would it tie in to a message that is worthy to what the rest of the message is that the city is getting from the mayor's office. Lots of information has been coming from the mayor's office and we wanted to be coherent with their message," said Steve Oglesby, a motion graphic design instructor.

Oglesby estimates about four or five students in his class will have their PSA projects eventually air on television.
