In Kentucky, if you are or were a Kenergy customer in the early 80's, you'll be getting money back this Summer.
The utility company says around 16,000 former and current customers who got power from Kenergy between 1980 and 1982 will be getting a return on their investments.
Kenergy is a non profit co-op and that allows them to make their returns after all expenses are taken care of.
The money will be in the form of a credit on monthly bills for current customers, and for former customers it will be a check.
"There's a lot of pride in that, in working for a cooperative but there's a lot of pride in being able to return capital credits because it means that Kenergy is financially strong enough to return that investment to its members," said Kenergy Communications Manager Renee Beasley Jones.
The returns are expected in June.
