Officials in a Chicago suburb hit hard by flooding say the earliest roads will reopen is Tuesday.
The (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald reports (http://bit.ly/15wtwSq ) that city leaders in Des Plaines met Sunday morning to discuss the flooding.
City Manager Mike Bartholomew says that the water level is receding and was about 10.19 feet early Sunday morning. He says city officials are waiting for it to go down to 8 feet and then city workers will have to clean roads and inspect them to make sure they're safe for travel.
Gov. Pat Quinn has declared 44 counties as state disaster areas following flooding.
