On Thursday afternoon the U.S. Marshal's Task Force received information that 25-year-old Cory Folsom of Oakland City was visiting a friend's house located in a trailer park near Elm Street in Owensville.
A felony warrant for Folsom's arrest was issued three days ago stemming from a forgery and theft investigation conducted by Oakland City Police.
Around 3:30 p.m. officers saw Folsom exit his friend's mobile home carrying a handgun and then driving away in a Mercury Marquis.
Within two minutes, officers from the U.S. Marshal's Task Force, Indiana State Police, Oakland City Police and Owensville Police stopped Folsom's vehicle near First Street and Warrick Street.
Folsom was arrested without incident.
When officers searched the vehicle they found a handgun under the seat. Folsom was taken to the Gibson County Jail where he is currently being held on bond.
