Iditarod racer shares her story at Evansville libraries

Posted: Updated:

Karen Land, an iditarod racer, visited the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library on Wednesday.

Karen competed in the 1,150 mile race from Anchorage to Nome in 2002, 2003, and 2004.

The Indianapolis native now lives in Montana, but spends most of her time with her sled dog speaking to groups around the country. She shared those stories on Wednesday at four library branches, including Red Bank.

"It just brings everything full circle. It's so much fun especially to come back home to Indiana, and to bring something that's different, unique, and exciting, especially to kids," Karen said.

Karen plans on competing in the race again in the next few years.
