Volunteer firefighters in Albion, Illinois walked off the job there more than a week ago, but several volunteers have returned to service.
Twenty five of the firefighters resigned after they say they were being bullied by city officials.
But in a letter to city council from volunteer Mike Valentine, 8 of those firefighters have returned and have apologized for leaving in the first place.
Valentine said the 8 remaining volunteers are back on the job.
The letter also asked city council to put past disputes in the past and would like to move forward on a positive note.
Their letter to the city requests fire pagers be returned to the remaining volunteers and stated that those volunteers already have the necessary gear which is custom-fitted to them.
