Several Owensboro neighborhoods will be spruced up this spring

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) - This weekend, the first of four neighborhood cleanups will kick off in Owensboro and run until the middle of May.

Tomorrow, the Midtown East Neighborhood Alliance will be the first to have its annual cleanup.

Everyone in this neighborhood is invited to help beautify the area by picking up trash along the sidewalks and streets.

The City Sanitation Department is also helping out.

It's providing free curbside pickup for junk furniture, appliances, and other items.

You just need to bring everything outside by 6 a.m. the day of the cleanup.

For future cleanups, if you have items that need to be picked up, call the city by the Wednesday before the cleanup.

Small items must be bagged or boxed, and crews can't take construction materials, yard waste, paint, or any type of liquid.

Other alliances that are holding cleanups include Apollo on April 20th, Wesleyan-Shawnee on April 27th, and Dugan Best on May 18th.
