OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

The Owensboro Chamber of Commerce's Rooster Booster Breakfast is taking place this morning.

It's happening at 7:30 a.m. at Owensboro Christian Church.

John Williams, a member of the Governor's Blue Ribbon Commission on Tax Reform, will speak.

He'll talk about the Commission's 54 recommendations to change Kentucky's tax code.

They include revenue-raising measures like higher cigarette taxes, as well as tax cuts, like lower rates on income and a new earned income tax credit for the working poor.

According to organizers, the goal of today's breakfast is to help Chamber members understand the recommendations that are designed to simplify and improve Kentucky's tax code.

Like many Chamber members, Williams is also a business owner.

Today's breakfast is being sponsored by the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation.
