Storms Fizzle

Tornado Watches expired early this morning. The front has slowed easing the severe weather threat. Big soaker early this morning with 1 to 2 inches of rainfall. Temps will fall during the day, from the mid 60s in the morning into the low to mid 50s by afternoon.  Cooler, dry and tranquil weather will take us into the weekend. Byron has the very latest in his First Alert forecast.

Damage Elsewhere

While the Tri-state dodged this round of rough stuff, others were not so lucky.  An ice storm brought down power lines in Wisconsin, while a possible tornado caused injuries and damage in Arkansas.

Reducing Gun Violence

The first step toward expanded background checks on gun buyers is expected today.  We'll have the latest from Washington.

Toyota & Honda Recall

Toyota, Honda and Nissan are recalling more than 2 million vehicles globally for an identical problem with air bags on the passenger side whose inflator may burst, sending plastic pieces flying.  We'll have the details.

So enjoy a rainy Thursday, and we'll see you on Sunrise.
