Henderson police say they have arrested Tuesday's bank robbery suspect.

Police have arrested 45-year-old David W. Sharp, who matched the photos and descriptions from the Independence Bank robbery on Tuesday, and the Fifth Third Bank robbery on April 3.

On Wednesday, detectives received a tip that the bank robbery suspect from Independence Bank had also been to Banktrust Financial on Barrett Blvd. before going to Independence Bank.

Detectives say they also received information stating that a man fitting that description had recently been incarcerated in the Webster County Jail.

Detectives began to canvass the area around Independence Bank and found sharp in an apartment in the 600 block of Washington Street.

Police say a search warrant was obtained for his room on Washington Street and evidence linking him to the robbery at Independence Bank and Fifth Third Bank was located.

Sharp was arrested on charges of two counts of Robbery 1st Degree and was lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center.
