Large G.R.O.U.P. shares concerns against proposed west side development

Vanderburgh County Commissioners heard concerns against the proposed west side development project on Tuesday night.

More than 60 members of G.R.O.U.P, or Growing Responsibly On University Parkway, packed the Civic Center on Tuesday night.
Group president Stan Blaczyk presented commissioners with his reasons why the project shouldn't move forward.

"It is far too close to USI. There is so much congestion," Blaczyk said.

"I think everyone is interested in what plans will be done in the neighborhood," said Joyce Waters who owns nearby property.

"We just need more people, more support. More people to get out there and get petitions signed," G.R.O.U.P member, Zach Blaczyk said.

A county report shows the proposed area off of University Parkway may not be able to support the plan, as is.

The owners of the property are set to go before the Area Plan Commission on Thursday for rezoning.
