Section of US 41-A in Henderson Co. to close for railroad work

Posted: Updated:

At the request of Kentucky Transportation Cabinet engineers, CSX Railroad plans to close US 41-Alternate at the south edge of Henderson on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, to smooth out the rail crossing at US 41-A mile point 11.965.

CSX plans to close US 41-Alternate at about 8:00 a.m., Wednesday, after the morning school bus run.  The roadway is expected to remain closed until about 2:00 p.m., CDT, on Wednesday.

The closure on US 41-Alternate is just south of the Canoe Creek Bridge between US 60 and The KY 425 Henderson Bypass.

KYTC engineers have asked CSX to extend pavement on each side of the rail crossing to meet highway standards.

US 41-A northbound traffic should detour via KY 425 to US 60 East to US 41-A.  US 41-A southbound traffic should detour via US 60 West to the KY 425 Henderson Bypass to US 41-A.
