'We Are Evansville' ready to change the city's miserable ranking

Posted: Updated:

Some USI students are determined to do something about Evansville's 'miserable' city ranking.

A public relations class has started the 'We Are Evansville' campaign in response to the poll results ranking Evansville as one of the most miserable places to live.

The class has started a Facebook page and on Monday, Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke stopped by the class to show his support for their efforts.

"They're coming up with all kinds of great ideas to engage the citizens of the city at all levels. They're doing all kinds of great research about what the city has to offer. So the fact they keep coming up with ideas and they want to do a giant video which really focuses on how wonderful Evansville is, I think it's a great tribute to these young minds at USI," Mayor Winnecke said.

The class even had T-shirts made in several bright colors that say We Are Evansville.

If you want to support your city, be sure to like their We Are Evansville Facebook page.
