Vail Meadows rebuilds with community support

(Toledo News Now) -

After a barn fire killed six therapy horses and other animals, owners are trying to pick up the pieces and rebuild.

The barn has fans that still come to pay their respects at the graves of the buried horses.

For years, Vail Meadows Equestrian Center has provided therapy for children with autism through riding.

Now the community is stepping up to help them rebuild. A spaghetti dinner fundraiser was held, and an upcoming golf scramble is being planned for May.

"What we do here is from the heart," explained Robin Shinaver. "So it's nice to know that it is making a difference, that it was important to other people, other than just us."
