Teen killed, man wounded in shooting on Herman St.

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A teen wounded in a double shooting Friday afternoon near downtown Nashville has died from his injuries.

Mi-Twan Johnson, 17, died at General Hospital, where he had been transported following an exchange of gunfire about 1 p.m. in the 1700 block of Herman Street outside MDHA's Andrew Jackson Courts community.

Police said shots were fired from occupants of a gold Chevrolet Malibu, and Johnson was struck by the gunfire.

Jeremiah Peterkin, 23, was brought to Baptist Hospital in the suspect Malibu for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

"It is a nice day, and people were standing outside. The shooting, of course, did endanger folks who were outside who had nothing to do with it," said Metro police spokeswoman Kris Mumford.

Anyone with information on the shooting or the whereabouts of the Malibu, which had a temporary tag and may now have gunshot damage, is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
