An Evansville family is offering a reward for information after their pet dog was shot and killed with a pellet gun.

The family says they let the dog out on the night of March 25 and heard a yelp.

That's when they found the dog had been shot. It was rushed to the vet, but didn't survive.

Animal control was called to file a report.

It's not known who shot the dog or why.

If you have any information please call Evansville Police at (812) 484-4590, Case #13-05-836.
