Lamar Reese claims elementary school hoops championship

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

For the first time in 8 years Dougherty County has a new elementary school champion.  Lamar Reese defeated Live Oak 32-27 to claim the DCSS championship.  Lincoln Elementary had won the previous 8 titles.

It was the 13th annual Dougherty County elementary tournament.  It began with many Extended Day Program sites having a team. Over the years, other schools decided to join the tournament.  A few years ago, the league was opened up so all DCSS elementary schools could have a team.
