Daviess County fire crews responded to a field fire early Friday morning.
It happened around 3:30 on Highway 1389 near Yelvington-Knottsville road.
Crews say farmers had been burning the field and believe something rekindled overnight.
The fire spread to some old cars, tires, and railroad ties.
Fire officials say it took about an hour to put the fire out.
No occupied homes were threatened while the fire was active.
Portions of Highway 1389 are shut down while crews continue their work at the scene.
