A couple from Mount Carmel won a grand prize in the Easter Seals Home Run Sweeps ALL CA$H Raffle.
Bryant and Mary Jeffers, of Mt. Carmel, IL., won the grant prize of $100,000 during Thursday's final key ceremony for the 2013 edition of the raffle.
Mr. and Mrs. Jeffers both said they have been entering the raffles since 1992 when their grandson, Beau Singer, was the local Easter Seals Child Representative.
Mr. Jeffers had bought his and his wife's $100 ticket early in the year's sales period, which proved to be a lucky move for the two when his wife wanted him to wait closer to the deadline.
The $10,000 second prize was awarded to Gene Aimone of Evansville.
Tonya Gootee of Evansville claimed the $5,000 third prize.
Finalists Charles and Shirley Ankenbrand of Evansville, and Paul Cannon of Newburgh claimed $1,000.
From January 9 to March 21, a total of 2,147 raffle tickets were sold for $100 each.
South Central Media's Liberty Hill emceed the noon key ceremony at the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center.
Officials from Kemper CPA Group supervised as the finalists chose keys at random and attempted to open boxes representing the raffle prizes.
Easter Seals will net approximately $92,000 from this years Raffle.
Net proceeds will help to underwrite approximately 1,920 physical, occupational and speech therapy sessions for local individuals with disabilities who couldn't otherwise afford these life-changing services.
This year's amount brings the 22-year total raised by the Sweeps to approximately $2,581,757.
