Remember last March when flowers had long bloomed and trees were in full green mode? What a difference a year makes.
Last year, the jet stream... which helps steer storm system and helps usher in cold air, was stuck to the north. That meant a dry... and very warm March.
All you need to do is look at the stats:
So far during March of 2013, we've only had four days at or above 60 degrees. 19 days... let me say that again, 19 DAYS have had highs in the 30s or 40s.
In March 2012, we didn't have any days with highs in the 30s and only three days with highs in the 40s. A whopping 22 days had highs in the 70s or 80s. We haven't seen one of those yet.
The extended forecast for the next 2 weeks doesn't yield much hope. Although temps will moderate into the 50s this weekend, that's still below normal for this time of year.
