(EVANSVILLE, IN) -

On Friday night, people came out to Shave for Schroer. It was a public show of support for Nathan Schroer, an Evansville Police Detective battling Leukemia.

Schroer, an 11-year veteran of the EPD, has been diagnosed with leukemia after almost nine years in remission. The fundraiser will help pay for medical expenses.

About a hundred people either shaved their heads, or had a colored spray paint put in. Each person who participated donated money to the cause.

The EPD also sold wristbands and T-shirts for the cause.
