HENDERSON CO., KY (WFIE) -
Law enforcement from Crimestoppers organizations across Kentucky met on Friday to discuss strategies for solving crime.
Kentucky Crimestoppers have two meetings a year at different locations throughout the commonwealth.
Their spring meet held on Friday was at Audubon State Park.
President of Kentucky State Crimestoppers Association, Tim Thomas, tells 14 News that there are 19 crimestoppers organizations in Kentucky and he's hoping to expand more into Central Kentucky.
At the meeting, Madisonville Police Department reported 52 tips and 21 arrests through Crimestoppers so far this year.
Officer Jennifer Richmond with Henderson Police coordinates Henderson County's Crimestoppers Organization.
She said they get about 25-to-30 tips a month.
Richmond says today's meeting helped local crimestoppers learn how to fundraise more for award money and how to network with local businesses.
Thomas says the fall meeting will be held in October most likely in Northern Kentucky.
