Overturned semi disrupts traffic on northbound I-71 in Oldham Co.

LA GRANGE, KY (WAVE) – One person was injured Thursday morning when a van and a semi collided in the northbound lanes of Interstate 71 in Oldham County, causing the semi to overturn. It was not immediately clear whether the injured patient was in the semi or the van.

The wreck has blocked the right lane of I-71. The left lane is open.

A spokesperson for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said the semi lost part of its load of steel. Cleanup was expected to last until mid-afternoon at the earliest.

The accident happened at 6:51 a.m. just before the La Grange exit.
