Man charged with arson after late night fire

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

 

An Owensboro man is facing arson and wanton endangerment charges following a house fire.

It happened just after midnight Thursday at 324 Cinderella Drive.

Deputies tell 14 News flames were shooting out the back window when they arrived on scene.

The people living in the house made it out safely as well some next door neighbors. 

It took crews about 30 minutes to put the fire out.

The home suffered a lot of damage.

The residents are now staying somewhere else.

No one was hurt.

The sheriff's office says a man, who lived there, came up to deputies on scene and told them he set his clothes on fire.

Joseph Paul Stamper, 29, is in the Daviess County Detention Center.
