LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Another driver ignored the signs and slammed into a rail line viaduct. A rental truck became stuck and trapped between two low-clearance viaducts. The accident halted traffic and caused significant damage to the truck.

The accident happened right after a WAVE 3 investigation in the University of Louisville area.

The over height Thrifty rental truck couldn't budge and caused traffic to be tied up for more than an hour.

Towing specialists deflated the tires so the driver could navigate the truck out of the 11' 8" rail. Even that was barely enough to scrape under the.

I asked the driver whether he noticed low clearance caution signage.

"Honestly, I really didn't pay attention," said Paul Nelson. "I'm from Pittsburgh and that's not an excuse, but I just didn't pay attention."

Louisville Metro Police responded to the incident and set up a detour for oncoming traffic. An officer said an investigation is ongoing and wouldn't comment if the driver would be ticketed for ignoring signage.
