KSP investigating bomb threat at Muhlenberg Co. middle school

Kentucky State Police say they are investigating a bomb threat at Muhlenberg South Middle School.

On Monday around 2:30 p.m., the KSP Post 2 Madisonville was contacted by Muhlenberg County Board of Education School Resource Officer Mike Drake in reference to a bomb threat at Muhlenberg South Middle School located at 200 Pritchett Drive in Greenville. 

A threat indicating that there was a bomb in the school had been discovered written on a wall of a boy's bathroom stall.

Emergency personnel from several agencies responded to the scene, and students were evacuated from the school. 

A search of the school was conducted by officers and a canine from the KSP Special Operations Section, and no explosives or explosive devices were located.

A KSP Detective is continuing the investigation. 

Greenville Police Department, Greenville Fire Department, Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department, Muhlenberg County Board of Education School Resource Officers, Central City Police Department, Muhlenberg County Emergency Management, KY Department of Fish & Wildlife, and Muhlenberg County EMS all assisted at the scene.
