3-year-old Indiana boy taken to hospital after being shot

    It happened around 2:30 this morning at the kangaroo express on south kentucky. You can see a heavy police presence at the scene. Officers say a white male in his late 20's, early 30's walked into the

Brown County, IN (WFIE) -

The Brown County Sheriff's Department responded to a call for help from the residence at 6319 Spearsville Road in Brown County early Sunday evening where it was revealed a three year old male had suffered a gunshot wound. 

The gunshot wound was not fatal and local Emergency Medical Technicians were able to transport the boy to a Lifeline Helicopter that immediately transported him to Riley Hospital for treatment. 

His current condition is unknown.

The Brown County Sheriff's Department has asked the Indiana State Police to investigate the incident.

It was revealed the boy was in a relative's home at the time of the occurrence.

The investigation is in its very early stages and authorities say they do not have any further information (caliber of gun, owners, etc.) at this time.
