VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) -
The driver of a motorcycle died from injuries he suffered in an accident Saturday night.
A little after 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Vanderburgh County Sheriff's deputies responded to the area of Boonville New Harmony Rd. near the overpass at I-164 because of a crash with injuries involving a motorcycle.
After arriving on scene, deputies sat they found 54-year-old Roger Bass, of Evansville, being assisted by other motorists, and paramedics from Scott Township Fire Department.
The crash involved two vehicles, one being a motorcycle, and the other a Toyota SUV. Deputies say the motorcycle, being driven by Bass, was eastbound on Boonville New Harmony Rd., and the Toyota was north bound on the exit ramp from northbound I-164. The Toyota stopped at the stop sign at the intersection with Boonville New Harmony Road, and turned left in front of the eastbound motorcycle.
The sheriff's office says Bass was transported to St Mary's Hospital by a Scott Township Ambulance. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Deputies say the driver of the Toyota was not injured.
The sheriff's office crash reconstructionist was called to the scene, and the crash remains under investigation.
