White Castles were served at the reception, of course.
The wedding took place at the White Castle off Hurstbourne Parkway.
The couple recited their vows at a Louisville White Castle restaurant after winning a radio contest.
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A unique wedding at a castle in Louisville on Friday is sure to leave the smell of onions lingering well into the honeymoon.
Kim Hein and Craig Welby tied the knot at the White Castle off Hurstbourne Parkway Friday morning. The wedding was part of a radio contest in which listeners went online to vote for the couple they considered the most deserving of an all-expenses paid wedding at the home of the slider.
Kim and Craig said they didn't expect to win.
"I was driving home, and I heard this on the radio, and I was like, ‘Oh, my God! This would be so cool if we won!'" said Kim. "I went home and told (Craig) about it, and he was like, ‘I'll do it.'"
"I went along with it, not thinking we would actually win, but it turned out that we did, so it's for the best," said Craig.
The Bakery at Sullivan University even created a hamburger cake for the occasion.
