Police say a 7-year-old boy is critically injured, after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Indianapolis. The boy was hit about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday on the city's south side. A police spokesman says
Officers were told that the boy was trying to cross the busy two-lane street when he was hit.

The Indianapolis Colts have signed free agent defensive lineman Ricky Jean Francois.

Terms of the deal were not immediately released but the team confirmed the signing on its website. Twenty minutes later, Francois said he wants to change trend in Indy and build a defense that people will talk about.

It's the latest deal in a 72-hour span that has been unlike any other in Jim Irsay's tenure as team owner. The Colts have signed seven unrestricted free agents, five on defense, and also re-signed one of their own cornerbacks, Darius Butler, too.

At 6-foot-3, 295 pounds, Francois should help stabilize Indy's run defense.

The flurry began when right tackle Gosder Cherilus signed a five-year deal Tuesday and the Colts haven't stopped since then.
