A concerned citizen called the cops Wednesday around 12:30 p.m. after seeing the driver of a city vehicle driving erratically. The caller stated the driver looked impaired.

Officers found the suspect city vehicle and pulled over the driver, Matthew J. Jurco.

Jurco, 31, told officers he was an employee of the City of Elyria Utilities Department.

Upon in initial contact, officers detected signs of possible impairment. Additional testing confirmed Jurco was drunk, and he was placed under arrest for driving a vehicle under the influence.

During a patdown, officers found drug paraphernalia instruments in his coat pocket. Medication not prescribed to Jurco was also found.

Jurco was charged with OVI, possession of drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia.
