Deputies find around 2,000 drug paraphernalia items in two local gas stations

More than 2,000 drug paraphernalia items have been discovered in gas stations in Muhlenberg County.

The sheriff's office, along with Kentucky State Police and other drug enforcement agencies, received information of two fuel stations in Central City selling the items.

On Tuesday night, the Muhlenberg County sheriff got search warrants for the Falcon Fuel and Always Open Market gas stations. The items include marijuana grinders, pipes, and digital scales.

"When the confidential informant went inside the stores, the informant asked for pipes that could be used for smoking illegal substances," sheriff Curtis McGehee said. "The informant specifically mentioned marijuana and methamphetamines, and in both locations at Falcon Fuel and Always Open Market, from behind the counter they produced pipes used for smoking marijuana and methamphetamines."

Authorities say this is the largest bust of its kind in Muhlenberg County.
