LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro police have issued an arrest warrant following a house fire in the Parkland neighborhood.

On March 3, Vernice Aniton, 64, was found dead after a fire in her Cypress Street home. Further investigation into the fire revealed Aniton died before the fire. Police have no released her cause of death but are now searching for Gerry Lawson, 52 in the case.

Lawson is wanted on charges of murder, arson, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.

Police said Lawson also goes by the name Gary. If you know where he is you are asked to call the anonymous police tip line at (502) 574-LMPD (5673.)
