HENDERSON CO, KY (WFIE) -

A man calls Henderson Police to report that he was beaten and robbed, and the man filing the report ends up behind bars.

Henderson Police say 21-year-old Robert Swearingen reported that two men beat him up and took his wallet and cell phone at Atkinson Park some time after midnight on Tuesday night. 

Robert stated that the incident occurred in the skate park area of Atkinson Park.

Swearingen drove to McDonald's on US 41 North to report the robbery to police. 

He did not require medical attention as a result of the robbery, but he was subsequently arrested on a DUI charge and taken to the Henderson County Detention Center. 

 Police say the robbery investigation is ongoing.
