How United Way Helps

United Way provides a safety net for our community. We bring agencies and people together and provide a circle of care for those looking to better their lives of themselves and their families.

United Way connects people and services with First Call for Help, a free and confidential information and referral line that helps people find the services they need.

United Way carefully invests and monitors every dollar it receives. Local volunteers invest your contributions and make sure your money supports effective, efficiently-run programs. United Way adds value to each gift. In addition to money,

United Way supports nonprofit agencies with volunteers, donated items and training. We also seek grants and match money to maximize your gift.

United Way researches the needs. We conduct Southwestern Indiana's most Comprehensive Community Needs Assessment, a thorough study of what issues affect us the most.

United Way impacts our community's most pressing issues. We bring together experts, social service agencies, businesses and the public to creating lasting changes and to improve life in our community.
