U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Hogsett announced Tuesday morning that two Newburgh men are facing child pornography charges.
Hogsett announced that 71-year-old Charles Thomas Prideaux is charged with possession of child pornography. Hogsett said this follows charges against Charles Thomas Prideaux's son, Charles M. Prideaux who has been charged with possession and receipt of child pornography.
Hogsett says the charges against the men come as a result of his office launching Operation Community Watch, an effort to reduce abuse against Hoosier children through new investigative techniques and aggressive prosecution.
According to court documents both men lived in the same Warrick County home at the time of the alleged offenses. A federal investigation of Charles M. Prideaux led authorities to the home where during a search warrant investigators say they found evidence that Charles M. was in possession and had received child porn.
The court documents show that while executing the search warrant against Charles M. authorities found a laptop belonging to his father, Charles Thomas Prideaux. Officials say they found child pornography on the laptop.
According to court documents from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Charles Thomas Prideaux plead guilty to possession of child porn and faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
