Traffic flowing again after Lloyd Expressway accident

Evansville Police say emergency crews responded to eastbound Lloyd Expressway near the Boeke Road exit for a multi-vehicle accident Monday afternoon.

Just before 4:00 p.m., police say a truck had come up the exit ramp to Boeke Road the wrong way. They say when the driver of the truck realized they were about to head the wrong way in the eastbound lane of the Lloyd Expressway, they attempted to pull a U-turn and head east on the Lloyd.

Police say an SUV was driving eastbound and clipped the truck. Three people were taken to the hospital.

Officers advised drivers avoid the area. Traffic was down to one lane while they cleared the accident. All lanes have been reopened.
