LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman who dated Richard Hooten, the man who admits he raped and murdered a Clarksville teenager, never knew Hooten's real name. The ex-girlfriend as well as the owner of a bar where Hooten says he raped another woman have come forward after learning his true identity and the allegations against him.

"I knew him as David Cook," said Patsy McCain who was fooled by months of lies.

McCain met Hooten through a telephone dating service. All along he went by an alias. They hit it off, McCain said, until says Hooten hit her.

"He assaulted me. I didn't want any part of that, so I ended up kicking him out and making him leave," McCain said.

What she didn't know was Hooten's criminal background or even his real name. "I now know him as Richard," McCain said. "I knew nothing about that man and yet I lived with him for four months."

Hooten is a convicted sex offender who is now accused of murder and sexual assault in the death of 17-year-old Tara Willenborg. The teen's fiance found her dead early Saturday morning inside the unit they shared at the Cambridge Square Apartments in Clarksville.

Hooten admits he raped and killed Willenborg the first weekend of March. "I just lost control," Hooten told reporters on Thursday.

During his conversation with reporters, Hooten confessed he raped another woman behind a bar. "The bar I committed the crime was at O'Dolly's," Hooten said.

"I feel for the woman that happened to," O'Dolly's owner Christi Polston said. She served Hooten several nights a week. "If not every evening, every other evening with his girlfriend," Polston said.

McCain said they'd hang out and sing karaoke.

The tight knit community along Third Street Road in south Louisville is still trying to comprehend the allegations against Hooten -- especially the woman who planned to spend the rest of her life with him.

"I was in love with him and going to marry him," McCain said.

Willenborg was buried Wednesday. The Clark County Prosecutor said he's exploring the possibility of seeking the death penalty in the case.

The Republican-led House narrowly passed the Farm Bill on Thursday. The GOP-backed measure, which covers food and farm policy legislation, passed 213-211. It's a whopping $867 billion package that renews the safety net for farmers. But it's the Supplemental Nutrition Program (SNAP) changes that are controversial. The bill calls for tougher work requirements for SNAP recipients, known as food stamps. It could cause millions of Americans to lose benefits. So, what would...
