APPLETON, WI (CNN) - A Wisconsin dog owner has to find a new home for a family pet because the city says the German shepherd is dangerous.

The dog bit a postal worker on two occasions in Appleton.

Its owner apologized, but the police says the animal is a menace.

Now, the owner has 30 days to find the pet a new home outside the city limits.

Appleton's mayor says the city has a duty to everyone within its borders. The homeowner didn't want to be interviewed.
