A different sort of lesson was taught to Muhlenberg County students on Thursday.
Muhlenberg County Sheriff Curtis McGehee led a junior deputy program for students in the 3rd grade to the 6th grade.
The program concentrated on gun safety, bullying, how to handle Internet predators, and what to do in case of an emergency.
The students were sworn in as official Junior Deputies of the Department.
The landmark program for Muhlenberg County is going on it's third year and Sheriff McGehee will be doing another program at Central City Elementary on Friday.
