POSEY CO., IN (WFIE) -

Fire crews battling a barn fire in Posey County say the fire in now under control.

It broke out just before 4:30 Thursday morning at 10830 Baseline Road.

There are multiple fire crews on scene.

Firefighters say they now have the fire contained. They say there was a fuel tank right next to the barn, but firefighters were able to keep the flames away.

Firefighters say the nearest hydrant is four miles away so they have had to shuttle water to the scene.

Neighbors tell 14 News that there were animals inside the barn, but they were able get out safely.

No word on injuries.

We have a crew on scene and will bring you more information as soon as we get it.
