EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -
The Keep Evansville
Beautiful Board of Directors announced Wednesday that Marcia Dowell has been
selected as the new President/Executive Director of the non-profit
organization.
Dowell most recently served
as Executive Director of University Relations at Butler University in
Indianapolis. Prior to this position, she led marketing and communication
efforts at the University of Evansville and Welborn Baptist Hospital. She also
gained experience through her employment at the (then) Metropolitan Evansville
Chamber of Commerce.
"I am very pleased to have been selected as the president of Keep Evansville
Beautiful, and honored by the confidence that the Board has placed in me,"
Dowell said. "Building upon the many accomplishments of Keep Evansville
Beautiful, I look forward to working with our community leaders, partners and
volunteers to create clean, thriving and vibrant public places for our
community and visitors."

President, said the board did an extensive search before deciding on Dowell,
who has nearly two decades of experience as a successful communicator and
strategic planner.
"Marcia brings a
wealth of experience that will assist our organization in promoting the
important role that our agency plays in making Evansville an even better place
to live and work," Beck said. "She has deep knowledge about our community with
a proven record of collaboration that gets quantifiable results."
Dowell received a bachelor's
degree in business administration and a master's degree in public service
administration from the University of Evansville.
She has been active in many
not-for-profit and civic organizations in the Evansville community, including
Leadership Evansville, A Network of Evansville Women, Evansville's Celebration
of Diversity Distinguished Lecture Series, the Rotary Club of Evansville and
the YWCA.
