Here are a few snow totals from western NC:
Maggie Valley: 8"
Bryson City: 6"
Conditions will slowly improve as snow tapers off late tonight into the morning for western NC. Expect dicey roads in the higher elevations through the Thursday morning commute, then sunshine and warmer temps will dominate!
A quiet stretch of weather is ahead for us for a change! Expect sunny skies Thursday through Sunday! Highs will steadily warm up each day, and we should all be in the 60's by Saturday and Sunday! It will be a gorgeous weekend to enjoy!
Next week we'll be watching a strong cold front cross the southeast and move in for us late Monday into Tuesday. Severe weather will be a possibility, since the system has a good amount of upper level dynamics, and our temps will be spring-like. Just how humid it will be is what I'm wondering. At this point, we will keep our eyes on early next week for potential storminess, but not for more winter weather. Since Severe Weather Awareness Week continues, don't forget to talk to your family about your plan for severe weather. You want to make sure you can act fast if a tornado warning is issued or a particularly strong storms rolls through your neighborhood!
