Two police officers, stabbed in a scuffle with Henderson man, were not too badly hurt.

Early Tuesday morning, the officers from the Henderson Police Department responded to 961 Village Brook Drive regarding a welfare check.

While speaking to a man named Jon Hattabaugh regarding a violation of a foreign emergency protective order (issued by another state), officers realized that Hattabaugh needed medical treatment.

When they tried to help Hattabaugh, the 28-year-old began to fight them.

All three men fell to the ground,  at which time Hattabaugh allegedly stabbed Officer Daniel Burden and Officer Robert Gipson.

Hattabaugh was taken into custody and sent to the Henderson County Detention Center.

He's charged with 2nd degree assault charges, Harassment - Physical Contact, and Violation of a Foreign EPO.

Officers Burden and Gipson were treated and released at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.
