Name released of man killed in Evansville factory accident

New information on an deadly accident at an Evansville factory Wednesday morning, we now have the name of the victim.

According to Evansville Fire District Chief Dan Grimm, 43-year old Nugene Pike, of Evansville, died after becoming trapped in a man lift, at Purina Animal Nutrition on Lynch Road just after 2 a.m. Wednesday morning.

One of Pike's co-workers found him unresponsive and called 911.

Chief Grimm says a half dozen fire department units responded along with two rescue squads and the rope rescue team.

The cause of the accident is not yet known.

Officials say the factory is shut down until the investigation has been completed.
